Somewhere on Halloween this year, it will be raining. But a downpour doesn’t have to ruin Halloween for your little goblins and witches. In fact, one of my favorite Halloween memories was the year it rained.

Faux Birthday Party

Most kids can't wait until they are old enough to have a slumber party to celebrate their birthday. But why wait until they are older, when you can have a Faux Slumber Party now. I threw this birthday party for my daughter's 6th birthday and it was a big hit. It had all the trimmings of a sleepover, except all the girls left at 9:30 pm.Remember, boys like sleep over parties too. Of course I would probably have face painting instead of nail polish, but the rest would stay the same.

Why are little kids so intrigued by airplanes? Is it the whirring of the engines, or the way they seemingly float in the sky? Whatever the reason, there is nothing more delightful than watching a child with outstretched arms run around as they prepare to take off into the imaginary skies.

A favorite color is something every child seems to have. And these days the old blue for boys and pink for girls just doesn't hold true. So why not invite friends and family over for a ghoulish Halloween Party!

THIS ARTICLE WAS SUCH A BIG HIT LAST YEAR...WE DECIDED TO RUN IT AGAIN!

We have a new Thanksgiving tradition in our house called Pie Day. Started three years ago after a suggestion by our friend Bruce (I must give credit where credit is due), Pie Day is celebrated the day after Thanksgiving and is a chance to get together with all of our friends the day after the official celebration with our families.

Winter Beach Party

I spent my junior year of college studying in England and during the frigid winter I was often missed my home in California. Whenever I was homesick I would crank up the heat in my dorm room, put on some Beach Boys music, change into a pair of surfer shorts and dream I was back in sunny California.

Peter Pan for Boys and Girls

"Who wants to grow up?" "Not me!" crow the boys from Neverland.

And so begins the love affair children around the globe have with Peter Pan. Whether they've read the book or just seen the Disney movie, this is a great theme for a birthday party because it holds interest for both boys and girls.

If you have a child who watches the Disney Channel, you no doubt know all the words to all the High School Musical songs and quite frankly could probably act out the whole movie line by line.
