TIME OUT MATS
These two time out mats are a great place to park your kids when you’ve had enough. You can also use them to put a toy in time out when siblings are having difficulties sharing. The round TIME OUT SPOT is a plush acrylic rug with non-skid backing while the TAKE-OUT TIME-OUT is a thin portable rubber mat. Choose the one that fits your décor and you’ll always be ready for the next meltdown.

The Fine Arts and Craftiness

I'm big on sharing my love of the arts with my kids. I love taking them to art museums when we travel and also here in Los Angeles where I live. Art museums and kids? Not a perfect match you exclaim. I beg to differ. I've found that a little pre-museum exposure goes a long way to making for a successful visit.

This month, momready will be focusing on exposing your child to fine art in a way that is not only meaninful for them, but also a whole lot of fun.

I don't know about you, but it seems like all of my friends are having babies right now, and for most of them it's number three... or four. Buying a gift for the second or third time mom isn't always as simple as pulling up a gift registry. Even for first time parents, you may want a more unique gift.

The Cool Moms Fight Boredom The Old Fashioned Way

If you're anything like me, you've asked "Is summer over yet?" about 14 times since last week. And let's be honest, you've relied one too many times on those glowing boxes in the family room or their handheld counterparts... I'm talking TV, computer and game boys here. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for technology and fancy schmancy, but sometimes low tech toys are highly underrated. So what if they're seemingly outdated and don't have buttons or a speaker for recording high frequency sound waves. They've kept kids busy for decades, so why not give the following old fashioned toys a try.

Good Clean Fun

I don't know about you, but I'm one of those people that "have" to take a shower everyday to function. First thing in the morning preferably, or my whole day is thrown off. I just don't feel like me.

Unfortunately the idea of being clean and fresh is not always met with the same enthusiasm from people under the age of 12. And they all have their various reasons for bathing resistance. They don't like to get soap in their eyes. The water scares them. Or my favorite, it's too boring.

Squid Soap

It has been proven by the medical community that washing hands thoroughly reduces the risk of getting various viruses (flu, cold, etc.) Wonderful!, but how many of us parents have been able to get our kids to wash their hands thoroughly enough? I would guess the answer to be "a very small percentage".

Explaining to my kids that they needed to lather up and wash for at least 15 seconds (yes, I tried using the Happy Birthday song) was not working but now there's hope, thanks to a product which recently came to our attention here at momready...Squid Soap!

These days it seems that babies have the ability to express their feelings and preferences even before they can speak? Well not exactly, but parents across the nation have taken the opportunity to convey what they imagine their child is thinking through messages displayed front and center on their clothing.

Valentine's day in our house means one thing for sure -- CHOCOLATE! But I like to add an element of surprise to our celebration each year. Something a little extra or different from the usual cards and stuffed animals.

Here are my picks for a little V-day surprise!

LIPSTICK MESSAGE OF LOVE
See their faces light up with joy as your kids are surprised by the message of love scrawled across their bathroom mirror. Pink or red lipstick does the trick. Not a bad idea for your Valentine too!
