Scratch It! |

When I was a kid, we spent alot of time making cool scratch pictures. What we did was take all different color crayons and scribble all over a sheet of white paper. It didn't matter if the colors went on top of each other, in fact it made for better results.
Then, once we were done with the colored crayons, we would take a black crayon and (pressing hard), cover the entire sheet of paper so that not even a little bit of color would show through.
And then it was time -- we would take a large paperclip, or if we couldn't find one, use our fingernails, and scratch out a picture on the black covered paper. As we scratched out our designs, the colors would peek through creating a cool psychedelic picture.
Oh how we loved to make these pictures. We'd experiment with different colors underneath the black and be amazed at the results.
Yes, I know you can buy this kind of art paper in the stores, but making your own the old fashioned way takes a lot of time and effort, and only lasts one time, so your kids will have to spend more time making another sheet, and then another sheet...
Do you get my drift? (i.e. no fighting, no complaining, a little break time for mom...)
