Kids of all ages are always fascinated with bubbles...big bubbles, small bubbles even soap bubbles. In fact, as a new mom, I always carried a bottle of bubbles in my purse to combat sudden tantrums or just provide a nice diversion at the park.
But this spring as you head outside, take your bubbles to extreme and delight your kids with a Bubble Storm. All you need is a large multi-bubble wand (available at toy stores, Target, and many local drug stores) and your household fan.
Simply dip the bubble wand into the bubble solution and then hold the wand in front of the whirling fan - high speed is a must! Then be prepared for a storm of bubbles that will have your kids squealing with joy. We usually do this outside, but I have been known to bring this bubble storm inside.
A tall standing fan works the best, but you can also use a table top version on a chair. The larger and more powerful the fan, the more bubbles and the farther they will be launched out. Experiment with how close to hold the wand to the fan to see what produces the best results.
Of course you'll need to make sure the kids keep their fingers away from the fan. I like to put rope or garden hose down in front of the fan and tell the kids they must stay behind the line or the bubble fan stops. But they'll be having so much fun chasing around all the bubbles that the fan really won't hold much interest for them.
So break out the bubbles and head outside for some good clean fun!
